Car Audio SPL Competition – Show Us Your Decibels

Think your system is loud? Prove it in the Orion Car Audio SPL Competition.

Join this Sound Pressure Level (SPL) car audio competition challenges you to push your system to the limit, capture your peak decibels, and compete for the loudest build. Now, it’s time to show what your system can really do.  Because this is a true Car Audio SPL Competition, only verified decibel readings count. So make sure your system is fully visible and your measurement is clear.

HOW the Car Audio SPL Competition Works

1. BUILD IT OR RUN WHAT YOU’VE GOT
Use your existing Orion system or build one that hits harder.

2. USE an SPL Meter or download a Decibel Reader App
Grab a decibel reader and get ready to measure real output.

3. TURN IT UP
Push your system and capture your peak SPL.

4. PROVE IT
Record one continuous video showing your setup and the meter.

5. POST IT
Upload your video to Instagram OR Facebook and let the world hear it.

6. SUBMIT IT
Send your video link through the official Orion submission page.

OFFICIAL Car Audio SPL Competition CONTEST RULES

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning.

If you already have Orion Car Audio installed and believe you have a winning system, you are encouraged to enter.

Customers who purchase Orion products between March 30, 2026 and May 15, 2026 may receive a promotional gift at checkout on the Orion website, while supplies last. This promotion is separate from contest eligibility and does not impact judging.

This is a skill-based contest. Void where prohibited.

2. ELIGIBILITY

Open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry.

Not eligible:

  • Employees, officers, and directors of Orion Car Audio
  • Affiliates, subsidiaries, dealers, distributors, agencies
  • Immediate family members or household members of the above

Subject to all applicable laws and regulations.

 

3. CONTEST PERIOD

Begins: April 1, 2026 at 12:00:00 AM ET
Ends: May 15, 2026 at 11:59:59 PM ET

Sponsor’s system is the official timekeeping device.

4. HOW TO ENTER

Submission Requirements

Entrant must record a single, continuous, unedited video showing:

  • Exterior view of vehicle
  • Orion amplifier(s) and subwoofer(s) installed
  • SPL meter visible during testing 
  • Clear peak decibel reading

Video Rules

  • Must be original
  • No edits, cuts, overlays, or added audio
  • Must show measurement continuously from start to peak

Submission Process for car audio SPL competition

  1. Upload video via:

Social Posting Requirement

After submission approval, entrant must post the video to ONE platform:

Entry Limit

One (1) entry per person.

Incomplete or unclear submissions may be disqualified.

5. EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT

Entries must include Orion as the primary sound-producing system, including:

  • Minimum one (1) Orion amplifier
  • Minimum one (1) Orion subwoofer

Use of non-Orion primary equipment = disqualification.

6. APPROVED SPL METER APPS

  • NIOSH Sound Level Meter
  • SPLnFFT Noise Meter

Android

  • Decibel X
  • Sound Meter (Smart Tools)
  • SPL Meter (Keuwlsoft)

Required Settings

  • C-weighted
  • FAST response
  • Windows and doors closed
  • Device visible at all times
  • Continuous recording through peak

Non-compliant measurements may be rejected.

 

7. MEASUREMENT STANDARD

To ensure consistency:

  • Use 40Hz sine wave test tone
  • Measure from driver seat position
  • Device must remain visible inside cabin
  • Record continuously until peak is reached

Sponsor may request additional verification.

8. WINNER SELECTION

Winners are determined 100% by verified social media engagement.

Voting Rules

  • Only likes on the original post count
  • Shares, comments, or other reactions do not count
  • Entry must be posted on only one platform

Verification Process

Orion will verify:

  • Submission timestamp
  • Rule compliance
  • Authentic engagement

Winners

Top 3 verified entries:

  • 1st Place – Grand Prize
  • 2nd Place
  • 3rd Place

Fraud, bots, or manipulated engagement = immediate disqualification.

All decisions are final.

  • Non-transferable
  • No cash alternative

Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes. IRS Form 1099 may be issued.

10. WINNER NOTIFICATION

Winners will be contacted within 5 business days.

Required documents:

  • Affidavit of Eligibility
  • Liability Release
  • Publicity Release
  • W-9 (if required)

Failure to comply = disqualification.

 

11. SAFETY DISCLAIMER

High SPL levels can cause:

  • Hearing damage
  • Equipment damage
  • Vehicle damage

Participants assume all risk.

Orion is not responsible for any injury or damage resulting from participation.

12. RIGHTS GRANT

By entering, participants grant Orion a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use submitted content for marketing and promotional purposes.

13. GENERAL CONDITIONS

Orion reserves the right to:

  • Disqualify fraudulent or non-compliant entries
  • Modify or cancel the contest if necessary

14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Entrants release Orion from any liability related to:

  • Participation
  • Prize use

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Orion is not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

15. GOVERNING LAW

Governed by the laws of Florida.

All disputes:

  • Must be handled individually
  • Located in Miami-Dade County
  • No class actions permitted
