orion 250g5 Hcca 12.2 ((XTRPRO))

Okay well this is what i got one orion hcca 12.2 with an old school orion hcca 250g5 wired to one ohm. So i was thinking since i don't have much money to up grade to a competion amp. I thought i would set up two orion xtrpros in a custom box for a s10 ext cab. i'm just asking would i get a better bang for my buck or stick with what i have. i remember the orion web site having the wiring diagram for the the 250g5 but i cant find it anymore would this amp be able to be wired to two speakers anyway?

Need Help with Orion D5000 Cutting Off For a Sec At Higher Volume!

ok so for now im running 1 15"2Orion Hcca off of my NEW Orion D5000 At 1 ohm with 1 Kinetik hc2400 and a Iraggi 300a amputator. Big three and all wiring done in 0g. my hu is a kenwood DDX712.

So when i crank the volume up at about 17 with the infrasonic on the amp seems to go into protection but NOT. It does not "officially" go into protection. No protection light or nothing. it seems to just cut off sound to the sub for a second until i lower the volume. Also i hear a relay clicking inside the amp. Now when i turn the infrasonic off. im able to play the volume abit more but now cuts off at 22. Whats going on? i know should be able to crank this thing up way more. im pretty sure i have the hpf and lpf set about right and the intelli-q it tuned to port frequency. gain is all the way up but kept controlled with knob. What could be the cause of this
?

For those of you who dont know much about Orions Infrasonic or intelli-q ive attached a link to the manual in pdf.

Infrasonic Switch - when On cuts off extremely low bass frequencies (below the range of human hearing, that speakers cannot effectively reproduce). The high pass filter is engaged when the infrasonic switch is On. This improves efficiency of the amplifier's power supply, improves sound reproductive performance, and reduces chances of damaging the subwoofers.

INTELLi Q Control - continuously adjusts the "Q" boost of the high-pass crossover from 0 to 10dB of boost. Low-Pass Frequency Control - adjusts the upper crossover frequency of the amplifier.

2 Orion Hcca D5000 Amps

I have 2 Hcca 12.2 Subs, I had them running on one Hcca 5000d Amp wired to 1 ohm and it was super loud. Well i wanted to upgrade to bigger sound so i purchased another 5000d so i could use one on each sub. Now my sound is lower than when i had one amp. I checked the wiring to make sure that the speakers are wired plus to plus and negative to negative on the inside of the box. What could be the problem? I am sure that one amp on each speaker would make it louder but in this case not.

Hello I hope someone out there can help me out.

I have the HCCA-D2400 amp and have some minor questions...
When I first installed it I had problems with it I believe it was draining my power so It would just kill my car as I was driving.
I found out that my extra negative battery cable for ground was in a poor spot so I relocated it, that seemed to help.
However ever since then my esp light on top of the amp hasn't been turning on? But the side light indicates that its protected.
Is there a way to reset the amp so its back to the factory setting of on with service code?

xtreme 500 amp

hey guys..........i have a 10 inch orion xtreme (xtr series2) dvc 4 ohms sub, back from like 1999 when orion was original. The only spec i know is 500 watts dvc 4 ohm which is stated on the magnet. I think this is 500 watts peak not rms which would be 250 watts rms. My question is, will the orion xtreme 500 back from 2000 work for this sub or will it be too powerful? This amp puts out 500 watts rms at one channel (MONO. I really d want to buy a new amp b/c all these equipment is brand new.

I am currently looking into buying a hcca15.2 speaker and i was wondering if the hcca25001 amp will bee too much power for this speaker? amp puts out 2500rms @ 1 ohm. the hcca 15.2 is rated at 2000w rms. do i just adjust amp down or is their a better way to power this speaker?

Also should i go sealed or ported?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

The fuses on my HCCA-D1200 keep burning. I use the "30" fuses, which is the fuses the amp came with originally, but for some reason they keep burning.

How Can Can I Control Gain on 2 Amps with 1 Bass Knob?

OK so il be running two Orion HCCA D5000 and they have their own bass knob. i will not be strapping these and im trying to not use a EQ. is there any way around this? The bass knobs uses a headphone jack input to both the amp and remote.someone on another forum told me this" [color=5]the splitter on the bass knob wire might not preform correctly - the bass knob is just a potentiometer, so the amps are looking for a specific resistance. when you split the amp will see the bass knob in parallel with the input impedance on the other amp. it depends on the resistance range of that specific knob, and the circuitry of the amp.[/color] Any input?

Questions about amp for new speakers

I plan on purchasing 2 new subs, the Orion XTR PRO 10" 4 ohm, but I'm not sure what amplifier will work great for these. I plan on putting them in a trunk with maybe a sealed or ported box. I will also be needing an amp for my door and rear panel speakers which are Pioneer Premier TS-D520C 5.25" component set and 4 Pioneer Premier TS-D402P 4" door speakers, with the head unit as a Pioneer DEH-P710BT Premier CD Receiver or Sony Xplod CDX-GT930UI.

Recommendations for Powering a Pair of JL Audio 10w6s or 12s - HCCA 250 vs 2 Xtreme 400s (Old School Amps)

Hi,

I am passing down to my son some of my gear I stored from back in the days (late 80s, early 90s).

I have a HCCA 250, and 2 Xtreme 400s.

We are evaluating which subs would pair up best with those amps. My preference is to just give him the 2 X400s and keep the HCCA for a future install for myself. But I am not opposed to giving him the whole kit n kaboodle.

This is the gear being considered:

For front stage I am giving him my MBQuart QM130s Separates (Made in Germany) - power with an Xtreme 400 (a bit over kill I guess)

Rear fill speakers - purchase some high quality coax and power it from the head unit.

Subs: here's where we are undecided (except we know they will be JLs). I want to maximize power amp to speaker optimal rating. So we could go with :

2 - JL Audio 12w3v2 4 Ohm (per SPKR Max RMS Power of = 500 watts, 300 watts RMS is Optimal)
Power both of them with an Xtreme 400 @ 4 Ohms, 400 Watts RMS
Power both of them with the HCCA 250 @ 1 Ohm, 800 watts

or

2 JL Audio 10w6v2 4 Ohm (per SPKR Max RMS Power of 600 Watts, 400 watts RMS is Optimal) =
Power both with HCCA 250 @ 1 Ohm, 800 Watts RMS

Ive got myself a 10.2 hcca sub and i still havnt got myself an amp i heard that the orion amps are real greedy buggers!?!

Im from the Uk (london) And a few audio shops has reccomended the "massive Audio db3000 or db5000 series" ANY GOOD?

Ive looked at a few youtube videos from america and all the kids seem to use Power Acoustik ive read a few reviews on them and everyone just hates on them! (This is proper budget to) Also Spl Again bad reviews everyone hates

im looking at spending no more then £400

Any ideas? P.s im Running this is sub in an vented enclousure dont worry about getting technical :)
